Mike Jarvis is a former college basketball coach who has had a successful career leading several prominent programs. He was born on November 11, 1945 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Jarvis began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Harvard University before becoming the head coach at Boston University in 1985. He led the BU Terriers to two America East championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
In 1998, Jarvis was hired as the head coach at George Washington University, where he had great success, winning three Atlantic 10 championships and making three NCAA Tournament appearances in his six seasons with the program.
Jarvis later went on to coach at St. John's University from 1998-2003, leading the Red Storm to two NCAA Tournament appearances. He also had coaching stints at Florida Atlantic University and Morgan State University.
Throughout his career, Mike Jarvis has been known for his ability to develop and mentor players, as well as his success in recruiting top talent. He is considered a respected and accomplished coach in the college basketball world.
